House Guest...

So Chris and I are currently watching an 11 week old border collie puppy for some very good friends of ours who are vacationing in Disney for the week! Its been quite an adventure so far. Briar adores his new younger woman...and continues to sniff her inappropriately on an hourly basis...ehh hes such a boy! Other than the rude sniffing, and one episode of running away which included Chris falling down a hill, the house guest has been quite amusing! The two dogs are inseparable, stealing one anothers toys, wrestling, chasing, playing and tiring eachother our thoroughly. I figured I would upload some pics of Macy and Briar...hope everyone enjoys! Oh and yes that is Briar on the back of our sofa plotting an attack on the unsuspecting Macy!

Birthday Celebration!

25th Birthday!

So this weekend I headed to NJ to celebrate my 25th Birthday with friends and family! All in all it was a great time. Briar, of course, was along for the ride. He had an awesome time frolicking in the sunshine all weekend. My husband suprised me with an awesome windchime early saturday morning as well as a ice cream cake topped with a drawing of a horse...LOL...I will most definetly be posting pics when I get back to VA. Briar also enjoyed some Bday cake (mainly cuz he begged for so long that I finally gave in and let him have a piece). Also will have pics of said begging posted sometime this week. Got to see my super adorable nephew this AM. Sorry for the short post, but we have a seven hour drive ahead of us...Im sure the cats have devoured all their food and are pacing the floors of VA home as we speak!

Back to reality...

So today it was back to reality. Guest went home, much to Briars dismay, and Chris and I headed back to work. My day started interestingly enough (as most Mondays do) with a client waiting for me in the parking lot. I pulled into the parking lot chatting away to Chris's mom, sipping my fabulous coffee, feeling really pretty good when I saw a ginormous dog hanging out of a truck waiting for my arrival. Of course I was wearing my brand new Greys Anatomy scrubs (which immeadiately jinxed me for the day). Well all in all the day wasnt so bad: just one biting dog, a dog with maggots, and a some really adorable puppies. Plus my scrubs survived fairly unscathed...They are must have scrubs for anyone in the medical field. Very comfy and stylish. Check them out at the Barco website below...plus there is a great sale going on right now!

Sunday Fun Day

<--View of Main St.

<--Beautiful Family Picture :)
<---Checking out the view with hubby...

And then being silly...

The guys onto of the lookout wall.

So orginally the plan was to get up and simply take a few pics downtown and then our guests were going to head on out...but as you can see above, we decided to check out some really amazing scenery, go to lunch, and then ice cream and then more scenery...and then....dun na na!
THEY ARE STAYING ONE MORE NIGHT :) Yup after another busy day Chris and I managed to convince our guests to stay with us just one more night. We werent ready for the fun to end...and as stated earliar, we wore them out. So tonight will be an early to bed, relaxing evening, simply trying to soak up the last few hours that we are all together in beautiful VA. This weekend surely goes down in history as one of the best ever. We are already conspiring our next weekend together, which will hopefully include an overnight to DC :)...So its back to reality tomorrow, work and all...

Love my Keurig

So following a somewhat successful yardsale yesterday, we decided to pack up and head out to the stores with our earnings. As some may know, I am thoroughly obsessed with my Keurig k-cup coffee maker that I got for Easter this year. I was suprised to see that EVERY store we went to yesterday is now selling the Keurig coffee makers. This is a must have item for all coffee drinkers. My sister-in-law and I have been drinking yummy cups of coffee all weekend together. Its so quick and easy and best of all it makes like zero mess in my kitchen. I even might have the hubby interested in coffee now. I was also thrilled to get an email from greenmountaincoffee.com stating that the new summer flavors are out. I must say that the wild mountain blueberry is like a little cup of heaven each morning. Peach is the newest summer flavor and I will be ordering this week. Ill have to let you know how it is.
Ok so back to shopping. I LOVE the greys anatomy scrubs that I bought yesterday and cant wait to debut them at work tomorrow. Surley a dog will vomit or pee on me within the first 30 minutes tomorrow. Oh well, comes with the job. Chris also got some new stuff as well. I have to say my favorite is his new "Im a fun guy" T-shirt that has a picture of a mushroom on it. While the shirt is cute, the look on my hubby's face everytime he reads it to you and then giggles is priceless.
So today is Sunday, which means that today is Jay, Christina and Nathans last day in Virginia. The boys are getting in as much Wii as possible before they have to leave. Ahhh men will be men. Well Im going to go spend time with the family. I will be adding a bunch of pics this afternoon from this weekend. Check back later :)

Briar Patch

Yard Sale Saturday!

Its been a busy weekend so far. Chris's brother came down from NJ with his wife Christina and their super adorable son, Nathan on Thursday evening. Briar and Nathan are already in cahoots together. Briar is probably going to gain at least five lbs as it seems he is fast learner when it comes to who drops the best table scraps. It also greatly amuses me to see my pup following Nathan around INHALING the lovely scents of his diaper. I tell you this is the beginning of a life long friendship.
We got up bright and early this morning to have a yard sale, or rather a parking lot sale...since we dont technically have our own personal yard. Its amazing how much stuff Chris and I have managed to pack into this little two bedroom home in only two short years. Well after much agnony of what should, could or would be sold, we've managed a fairly large gathering of junk to sell! The men are playing video games while Christina and I are blogging, err I mean selling stuff. So far so good.
Briar on the otherhand is having the worst Saturday ever (in his mind of course). He is couped up for the time being so as not to scare off potential buyers. He will survive though since we have plans to play some serious frisbee this afternoon to make up for this lack of freedom this morning.
Overall we are having a great weekend having family in town visiting. I will post back later with the sales results. Wish me luck on getting rid of all this junk, I mean valuable items. ;)

First Post

Just starting this blog to keep friends and family updated on life in Virginia. Most of the posts will probably be about our third "child", Briar. Briar came into our lives a little over two years ago and life as we knew it has never been the same since. Dog hair, slobber, frisbees and nyla-bones are found throughout our little house and cars. We sleep ALOT less and exercise ALOT more.
While we were thoroughly warned that German Short Haired Pointers were "a lot of work", "high energy dogs", and "never slowed down", we thought, or rather I thought, I wanted a "challenge". Well a "challenge is an understatement. Chris and I are somehow no longer living in our world, but we exist in Briar's world. A world where there was supposed to be rules such as no dogs on the couch, counter surfing would be a major no-no, and running away would be out of the question. Nope I swear that wasnt me last week chasing a 50 lb speed machine down the street, screaming "Briar do you want a treat? Mommy will give you a cookie if you stop. BBBBBRRRRRIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR, please come back!?!?!?!?"
While there are many crazy times with Briar, 90 % of the time these moments are laughable to look back on. Like the time two summers ago when Briar was just a little puppy at the beginning of the summer and the very "hot" (as Chris puts it) college co-ed living nextdoor thought Briar was just "oh so sweet" and "cute" with those floppy ears and puppy eyes. Well while she was interning for three months Briar grew up into a 50 lb maniac with now "crazy eyes". Our neighbor pulls into her parking space and hops out of her little sports car in a cutesy sun dress. It just so happens that I chose this day to take on training Briar OFF of a leash. Big Mistake! It all happened so fast. The neighbor yells out "BRIAR" in such excitement that Briar takes this as his cue to immeadiatly remember he is not restrained and takes off towards her. I will never quite forget the look on her face when she realized A) he got really big over the summer and B) he was loose and headed straight for her. What happened next will probably go down in history as one the highlights of Chris's life. The dog bounds over, jumps up at just the right moment catching the girls dress with his front paws and proceeds to pull the dress up to her neck, giving Chris, Briar, and I a full view of her little lacey bra and panty set. Nice right. I was horrified and was until the day she finally moved away. Chris still privately high fives Briar for that one Im sure.
I'm certain that at any moment our homeowners association will be asking us to sell the house in order to get the menace of the neighborhood out of here.
Our lives are much crazier now, but we wouldnt change a thing! Check back often, Im sure Briar wont hesitate to give me new material.
